Teacher's Notes for March

Federation is this month, coming up on Saturday, March 27. I have everybody's time and number, and I would like you all to practice announcing your number and pieces, and then playing them at least three times every day. Give mini concerts to everyone! Make sure pieces are being memorized, and polished this month. Focus on dynamics, make sure posture is perfect throughout each piece, make sure bows are going straight, make sure all bowings are correct. Get with your pianist and practice as much as you can. For those of you that are using Aimee Ward for your pianist, she will be having a practice the week before Federation. You will all be ready for sure this way!

Federation will be held at the David Gardner Hall on the University of Utah campus like last year. Here is a link to print out a map of the U of U campus: http://www.map.utah.edu/index.html .
Remember to wear dress clothes and bring your music with you.

Group lessons will be held next week, on Tuesday, March 9, and Wednesday, March 10, from 4:30-5:30. Be prepared to play a polished Federation piece for everyone at group lesson! Keep working on your key signatures. Here is a link to print off some flashcards to practice with at home: http://linkwaregraphics.com/music/flashcards/keysignatures/

I have registered some of you for the Celebration concert in October. There is still time to sign up if you want to participate. It is such a neat experience to be a part of something so big.

Keep working hard this month so we can all do our best at Federation!
