Teacher's Notes for September

Fabulous job at the fiddle recital!  I loved everyone's pieces.  It was fun to play with the guitar and banjo...kind of a different sound, but they really add to the whole fiddling experience!  What a fun recital.  Thanks for all of your hard work over the summer.

If you have a hundred days chart, keep working on it and get it finished up before the fall recital.  You still have plenty of time to earn the award, even if you need to start over.

We will have Celebration rehearsals before group lessons starting at 4:00 pm in September and October. Plan on coming 30 minutes early to group lesson if you are playing in Celebration.  Please print out your Celebration music and bring it with you to your lessons this week!

A reminder that tuition will go up to $53 per month starting this month.  If you haven't finished paying for summer tuition, please take care of that this week.  Thanks!

Here are the important dates for fall quarter:

No Lessons September 6-10

Teacher's Notes for August

Here are a few updates for August:

Group lessons will be held next week on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30-5:30.

Our end of summer fiddle concert is coming up a week from this Saturday, August 21. It will be at the park in my neighborhood (like last year), and feel free to bring a picnic if you like. It will be at 7:00 pm, but I would like everyone to come to my basement at 6:15 to tune and run through our group number. Dress is casual, I like to go with the red, white and blue color scheme: blue jeans, white shirt, and something red, like a bandana, socks, hair scrunchie, or earrings.

Celebration music is here and can be downloaded from this site: http://www.suzukimusicutah.org/.  For those of you who signed up for Celebration, please print out this music and bring it with you to your next lesson. We need to start learning it!
  • For those kids who play Vivaldi in a minor 1st movement in book 4, you will be playing Joyful Journey part B, Ode to Joy violin 3, Bourree, O Come Little Children, and Twinkle.
  • For those kids who play Bourree in book 2, you will be playing Joyful Journey part C, Ode to Joy violin 2, O Come Little Children, and Twinkle.
  • For those kids who play O Come Little Children in book 1, you will be playing Joyful Journey part D, Ode to Joy Violin 1, and Twinkle.
We have a couple of group rehearsals for this music in September to make sure we’re ready for the concert! I’ll keep you posted.

Remember no lessons the week of August 23-27, and then the new fall schedule will go into effect.

Thanks everyone! Keep going on those 100 days of practicing!!
